Restaurant La Paillote by Damien Aix en Provence (les milles)

Damien and his wife are always so welcoming, and the whole team is very professional. The pool area has a nice atmosphere, and the restaurant's menu and service are top-notch.

We received a very warm welcome with my 6-month-old baby. We had a sun lounger in the shade, the owners were very friendly, and we enjoyed a delicious lunch!

A swimming pool set up in a parking lot next to a main road. €20 entrance fee, but no sunscreen allowed. Now I understand why there's nobody here...

I just discovered this place and was absolutely delighted. I had a wonderful, relaxing day, which was exactly what I needed. The food was good, and the welcome was lovely—thanks to Charlie.

Perfect, but way too long. We were told to be precise and arrive at exactly 12:00... the pool was great... I'll come back, but the wait time needs improvement.

The atmosphere was stifling and, above all, far too noisy during our lunch break. The service was attentive. The food wasn't bad, but my half-rooster looked sad, with no vegetables, fries instead of potatoes, and hardly any sauce... It was fine in a pinch, but perhaps they were too busy to offer higher quality food and a more relaxed atmosphere.

A really nice place, good atmosphere, just the right amount of background music – perfect for chatting. Good food, a small menu which isn't a bad thing – there's still plenty of choice. Don't hesitate to ask for ice creams that aren't on the menu for dessert.

We had a wonderful meal and the service was fantastic! The only downside was that it was particularly hot on our section of the terrace. Next time, we'll be sure to request a spot with a bit more ventilation.

Very friendly staff. Excellent food: fish tartare, tuna tataki, and a very generous Caesar salad. A very pleasant afternoon at the pool.

We were extremely disappointed. The service was appalling. We ordered two appetizers, and for every course we chose, they kept saying "we're out," only to come back to our table and tell us we could order again. We spent three hours sitting in sweltering heat, and the wait for our main courses was incredibly long. The main courses were served at the same time as our appetizers, so the pizzas were sent back to the kitchen and reheated. We were basically eating cardboard with dried-out sauce. They completely forgot about the dessert menu. In short, we won't be going back.

We came on a Saturday at lunchtime after seeing all the glowing reviews, and the result was very disappointing. Arriving at 1 p.m. (with a reservation), we noticed the service was terrible, with a long wait despite the terrace being half empty. We ordered appetizers, a children's menu, a Caesar salad, and a pizza. After a 20-minute wait without even a carafe of water (it was a heatwave), the children's menu and the Caesar salad finally arrived... The drinks arrived 5 minutes later... And the mozzarella pizza 35 minutes after that! What's more, the mozzarella turned out to be Emmental... I'll spare you the details and details of requests that were always answered with a smile, but which we're still waiting for... Given the positive reviews, I imagine we just caught them on an off day, but aside from the smiles, the service was truly awful. I should mention that the pizza was ultimately offered to us free of charge, with different explanations depending on who we spoke to... As for the pool area, I was expecting a more refined, "upscale" setting. In reality, the atmosphere reminded me more of a campsite pool. It's a nice space, but it's a shame there wasn't staff and no menus to order from, as we only discovered the paninis when we were leaving. It's a shame, and when I ordered drinks twice, I paid different prices twice... I'm torn about whether or not I'd return. Overall, my experience was very poor, but there's potential, and I think all those glowing reviews must be justified... 🤔
